A SONG FOR JAPAN: ALL SALES GO TO CHARITY
On March 11, 2011, Japan was shaken by one of most powerful earthquakes ever recorded. The resulting tsunami brought unfathomable devastation and human tragedy to a huge part of Northeast Japan.
This track is inspired by the poem Be Not Defeated by the Rain by Kenji Miyazama, one of Japan’s most celebrated poets and a native of Iwate Prefecture, a region severely hit by the earthquake. For the thousands of people who now live in emergency shelters, his call to stand fast in the face of adversity is a source of strength and courage. To me, it also captures the quiet determination of the Japanese people, and the incredible courage, calm and integrity with which they have faced this crisis.
I have no doubt that, in time, the Japanese will overcome these difficult times, and rebuild their beautiful country. They will not be defeated by the rain.
The media spotlight has moved on, as it always does. But the devastation and the tragedy persist, and will continue to do so for a very long time. That is why every cent of the sales from this song will go to Ashinaga ("daddy longlegs"), an NGO that supports children orphaned by the earthquake. Please read more about Ashinaga here:

Sincerely,
Anders Lenart
